The meter of this line is the so-called Alexandrine or iambic hexameter. It is actually a 12-syllable line, containing 6 mostly iambic feet (iamb is a foot that contains one short and one long, emphasized syllable). Alexandrine contains two semi-lines divided by caesura (a pause or a break).
