The net ionic chemical equation only involves the reacting species so it will contain all of the information that is needed about the chemical reaction in its simplest way. However, you would not know how and what species are present in the reaction solution. In a molecular chemical equation, you can clearly see all of the substances that are present whether they are involved in the reaction process or not. One disadvantage would be that there are instances that balancing these equations would be tedious.
