find the common ratio, u divide the second term by the first term
9/-27 = -1/3

to find the next term in a geometric sequence, u multiply by the common ratio....
-27 * -1/3 = -27/3 = 9
9 * -1/3 = -9/3 = -3
-3 * -1/3 = -3/-3 = 1
