We are given [tex] x^{2} [/tex] = 100

The first step is to get rid of the square. Which is the small 2.

 We can do this by finding the radical of both sides.

 [tex] x^{2} [/tex] = 100

[tex] \sqrt{x^2} = \sqrt{100} [/tex]

Now the radical on the left side gets rid of the square root of two.

So now it looks like this.

x = [tex] \sqrt{100}

x = 10

Good Luck :)
