Why does only 10% of energy travel from one level to the next???!!! I NEED HELP!!!!!!!

uh because energy decreases as it moves up tropic levels because energy is lost as metabolic heat when the organisms from one tropic  level are consumed by organisms from the next level. Tropic level transfer efficiency (TLTE) measures the amount of energy that is transferred between tropic levels.
