Without a calculator, you would do this:

You would want to multiply 1.2 by
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, etc. to try to get the best possible average.
So, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 won't work.

6 * 1.2 = 7.2
7 * 1.2 = 8.4
8 * 1.2 = 9.6

So right now you have 7, 9 - 8.4 = .6 leftover.

Now you'd take .6/1.2, which is .5 .

Combine 7 and .5 and you get...
