There are two main types of sources which are primary and secondary sources.

A source that observed and/or participated in an event is called a primary source.

Some characteristics of a primary source are:

  1. They are told from first person perspective
  2. They are usually accurate
  3. They need to be interpreted

Unlike a primary source, a secondary source is not present during an event and relies on second hand information.
