An interval is just the gap between 2 notes.

Explanation:

So, the basic ones are unison (same note), 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8ve(octave). When you have an interval (I’ll pick a fourth), you will be given a note and have to decide what is a fourth above or below. If we have c and we need to go a fourth below, you can count the notes. C , B , A , G. So G would be your 4th below. Soon, you’ll remember all this stuff and won’t have to count.
