Answer:

3.5 feet = 3 feet 6 inches

3 * 12 = 36

36 + 6 = 42 inches long

42 / 5/8 → 42 * 8/5 = 42*8/5

336 / 5 = 67.2

We can't put up part of a book, so we can fit 67 books.
