Term life insurance is a cheap and inexpensive way to provide a tax free death benefit for a specific time period. For example, if you purchase a $100,000 term life insurance policy for 10 years, and you died during sometime during that 10 year period, the $100,00 dollars goes tax free to your beneficiary.
