Now to solve by elimination:

1)multiply the first row by -10 so that the dimes will cancel out.

-.10d + -.10 q = 20   (don't do anything to second row)

.10d +  .25q = 44

2) now add those up.

the dimes cancel out.

.15 q = 64

that does not divide evenly so there is something wrong with this problem.
