[tex]area = \pi {r}^{2} \\ r = \frac{1}{2} \times 7.5 = 3.75 \\ 3.14 \times 3.75 {}^{2} \\ 3.75 {}^{2} = 14.06 \\ 3.14 \times 14.06 = 44.1484 \: inches {}^{2} [/tex]

[tex]A = \pi {r}^{2} \\ \\ r = \frac{7.5}{2} = 3.75[/tex]

So

[tex]A = (3.14)({3.75}^{2} ) \\ A = (3.14)(14.0625) \\ A = 44.15625 \\ A =44.16[/tex]
