The Spanish colonies had troubles with the American Indians in the area. They had a hard time colonizing the area because the American Indians really put up a fight. They also had a really hard time spreading Catholicism which was their goal to the American Indians. But in the end they ended up being successful in their journey. Most of them were male and so intermixing with the natives was so common. They also conquered and enslaved American Indians.
